Fiapre natives abroad to build ultra-modern toilet facility
The ‘Adehyie’ Association of Fiapre Living Abroad has cut sod for the construction of a 10-seater ultra-modern Water Closet (WC) toilet facility with four (4) Bathrooms and two (2) Urinals at the Fiapre Health Center in the Sunyani West Municipality of the Bono Region.

The facility when completed would provide a befitting place of convenience for staff and clients of the Health Centre.

The project is estimated to cost at least GHC100, 000.00 and will be funded by the Adehyie Association of Fiapre living abroad through individual financial contributions.

The sod cutting ceremony was performed by Nana Adakabre Frimpong Manso, the Adontenhene of Fiapre traditional council and the chairman of the occasion.

Speaking at a short ceremony, the Chief noted that the project has come at the right time since public place of convenience at the health centre was a major challenge to the clients. He was therefore grateful to the Adehyie group for the timely intervention.

He pleaded for more support from the Chiefs, Philanthropist, Non-governmental organization and the Assembly to come to the aid of the Fiapre Health Centre to save more lives.

The Chief added that, education is at his heart and he would like to see the construction of a library in Fiapre. This, he indicated, would be the next project after the toilet facility.

The Physician Assistant in-charge for the Centre, Mrs. Animah Agyei Patience, on her part, expressed her gratitude for the support given to the centre to improve access to sanitation for clients which was a critical step towards reducing the impact of diseases.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Martin Obeng, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Sunyani West expressed gratitude to the group for the project.

He added that the Assembly will make every necessary efforts needed to support it to make their vision a reality. He urged the contractor (Hayford Sakyi Construction limited) to speed up work and appealed to the Natives of Fiapre to take good care of the project when completed.

Mr Martin Obeng, also promised that the assembly will work tirelessly to improve hygiene in the area.
