The one-number, two-unit ultra-modern kindergarten block which will be constructed at Damang and Juabeng will contain a kitchen, dining area, staff common room, store room, headmaster’s office, W/Cs with mechanized borehole and furniture.

The projects will be funded from the Mineral Development Fund (MDF) and Common Fund respectfully.

Addressing the gathering, the Prestea Huni-Valley Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Mozart Kweku Owuh said, the project was the third of its kind the Assembly has built in the Municipality.

The first and the second projects can be located at Petepom and Yareyeya, he added.

According to him, the project is called “Turned Key” because the project will be furnished with the needed facilities, materials as well as equipment before it will be handed-over to the community. This he said can help officers to use the facility right after it is commissioned.

Mr. Mozart Kweku Owuh further revealed that, the Assembly has instructed the contractor to engage the services of the local people by employing 70% of its workers from the community in which the project was located in order to serve as Employment Avenue to the youth. He also appealed to the Chief and the Elders as well as the community members to act as supervisors in order to have a well completed project.

Expressing her profound gratitude, the Municipal Director of Education, Madam Mary Vida Kwofie said, the success of every child begins from the foundation hence the facility will go a long way to improve upon teaching and learning and also develop the hygienic conditions of the child. She added that, when the child is given a better foundation, there is hope that, that particular child will grow up well and become a prominent person in future.

Madam Kwofie entreated parents and guardians in the community to ensure that, any child who is four years old and above is enrolled in school. She however thanked the MP and MCE for helping the Education Directorate by constructing such edifice to uplift the image of Early Childhood Education Development in the Municipality.
