Bibiani MCE, MP joint efforts commended
The joint efforts of the Municipal Chief Executive for Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai Municipal Assembly and Member of Parliament for Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekawi Constituency towards the development of the area has received commendation from chiefs and people of the area.

The MCE, Mr. Alfred Amoah, and MP, Kingsley Aboagya Gyedu, who doubles as the Regional Minister for Western North Region have been praised for championing rapid rapid development in the area within the space of two years.

The chiefs gave the commendation at a town hall meeting held at Sefwi Bekwai, last Friday in line with the initiative of the Ministry of information and Information services department (ISD), to bring democratic governance to the doorsteps of the citizenry.

The commendation was made during the open forum session of the town hall meeting. The constituents said the cordial relations between the two political figures and their joint efforts for the development of the municipality had yield positive results in many areas including education, health, roads, portable water, sanitation, toilet facilities and employment for the people.

The meeting was aimed at presenting government policies and programmes at the Municipal levels and to give the constituents the opportunity to make meaningful contributions on issues of development as a means of strengthening democracy and decentralisation in the area.



The programme organized by the information services department in collaboration with the Bibiani Municipal Assembly attracted people from all walks of life with a recorded attendance of seven hundred (700) participants.

The participants included, the clergy, traditional authorities, Assembly members, Heads of department, transport unions, the physically challenged, media, civil society, Muslims among others.



The MCE for the area, Alfred Amoah touched on some government policies and programmes which include, sanitation, education, health, support for persons with disabilities, infrastructure projects; one district, one-factory (1D1F); one district, one warehouse; Livelihood Empowerment Against Poverty (LEAP); Nations Builder's Corps (NABCO); planting for food and jobs (PfFJs); restoration of teacher trainee and nurses allowance, free senior high school among others.

He also said, there are more of such developments in the pipeline and be rolled out soon for the benefit of the residents and Ghanaians at large.



The Member of Parliament (MP) for Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai- Constituency, Hon. Aboagya Gyedu, also used the opportunity to highlight on series of projects undertaken in the area which includes, Construction of ten (10) seater water closet at Bibiani, construction of 3-story lecture halls and administration block at Bibiani college of Health, construction of science laboratory at Bibiani Senior High School, Construction of telephone mast in six separate communities Bethlehem, Wechi, Kojina.

The rest are, construction of 6-unit classroom block with ancillary and construction of five seater water closet toilet facility at Dansokrom, rehabilitation of Sefwi Anhwiaso SHS for nursing training, construction of Community - based Health Planning and Service (CHPs) Compounds in five different communities in the Bibiani Municipality.



The beneficiary communities were Loneso, Chine,Ntakam, Akaasu, Sefwi Apenkrom all suburbs of Bibiani.

On his part, the Presiding Member for Bibiani Municipal, Dr. Robert Aidoo commended the New Patriotic Party (NPP) government by Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Adoo and the (MCE) for the introduction of this town hall meeting policy.

This, he said, will help to showcase government performance and achievement within the various District, Municipal and Metropolitan Assemblies.
