Good Samaritan donates to brilliant but needy students in Wenchi
Mr. Isam Rahman, a Wenchi Citizen based in the United Kingdom (UK) says he saw a need to those who are less fortunate in order for them to feel comfortable in their studies.

According to him many students quit school because their parents cannot afford to buy them basic needs such as school uniforms, books among others.

He made this known in Wenchi when he donated school uniforms to some brilliant but needy Students from some selected schools in Wenchi in the Bono Region.

He said students are “our future leaders and it is up to us to help them”.

My top most agenda is to invest towards the development of the future generation Alhaji Soofo Junior noted.

The beneficiary schools were Noriya Islamic Basic School, Methodist “C” Basic School and SDA Basic School.



Receiving the items on behalf of the schools, Mr. Joseph Mensah deputy Director of the Ghana Education Service in Wenchi expressed appreciation to Mr. Isam Rahman for the kind gesture and pledged to supervise the teachers to do their best to ensure that the children take their studies seriously and benefit from the donation.

He said the donation by Mr. Ibrahim has come at the right time adding that it would motivate the children to be regular to school.

The Municipal Chief Executive of Wenchi Hon. Dr. Prince Kwakye Afriyie thanked Mr. Isam Rahman popularly known as Alhaji Soofo Junior for the immense support given the children to improve educational performance in the Municipality.

Honorable Dr. Prince Kwakye Afriyie tasked the children to make good use of the uniforms to achieve its intended purposes.

He advised the pupils to take their studies seriously since education was the bedrock of every nation’s development.



He also used the opportunity to encourage teachers to work hard but with patience, humility and selflessness in transforming the children to become good future leaders.

The MCE pledged the Assembly’s readiness to commit more resources in providing educational infrastructure such as school buildings, library, and supply of furniture as well as ensuring the provision of an enabling environment for academic exercise to thrive.

He therefore appealed to other benevolent organizations, Wenchi citizens both home and abroad, NGO’s, religious bodies and other philanthropists to emulate the example of Mr. Isam Rahman to support other sectors in the Wenchi Municipality.
