JUABEN: MCE Distributes 10,000 Palm seedlings to famers

The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), for Juaben Municipal Assembly, Kodjo Ansah-Sem has distributed 10,000 Palm Seedlings to Famers within the Juaben enclave.

The support, he said, forms part of the government's flagship program dubbed; Planting for Export and Rural Development (PERD), and also to provide the raw materials for the local industries in the Municipality.

The Juaben MCE said that the government is investing heavily in planting for food and jobs as well as planting for rural export and rural development programme to encourage the youth in Agriculture.

He disclosed that, the Assembly had already distributed free coconut seedlings to some farmers last year.

Mr Ansah-Sem was confident that with such numerous interventions, the Municipality was on course to achieve the vision of boosting Agriculture in the area.

He appealed to the beneficiary farmers to follow all the directives given by the agric extension officers to improve the growth of the seedlings on their various farms in order to achieve the purpose of the delivery.

He said the planting for export and rural development would go a long way to eradicate poverty in the rural areas.

On his part, Seth Owusu, the Assembly Member for Ofoase-Abetrinm Electoral area, who spoke on behalf of the beneficiaries commended the Akufo Addo led administration and thanked the MCE for the numerous prudent policies to make farming activities in the Municipality more attractive.

He entreated the youth to take advantage of this flagship program to better their lives.
