Assembly commissions Akokofe CHPS compound
The Bosomtwe District Assembly has commissioned a Community Health Planning and Services (CHPS) compound at Akokofe.

The District Chief Executive (DCE) Mr. Joseph Kwasi Asuming in his address expressed his satisfaction for the presence of the health facility which includes staff quarters in the community. He said the CHPS compound forms part of the Assembly’s and government’s contribution to improving access to basic quality healthcare in various communities.

The DCE indicated that the facility will serve as a first aid for attending to basic health problems and urged members in the Akokofe community to patronize the services of the facility.

The District Health Director thanked the DCE and Member of Parliament for the efforts to improve access to quality healthcare in the Bosomtwe District of which the Akokofe community has also witnessed a CHPS compound.

He further said the CHPS compound which is a community-based healthcare facility requires collective efforts from inhabitants of the community and therefore appealed to the people to own, maintain and patronize the facility in order to ensure access to basic healthcare services as well as promote good and healthy living in the area.

Nana Gyanai Ababio, Akwamuhene of Akokofe also appreciated the good works of the current government for the massive development undertaken in the District of which the Akokofe community is benefiting. He said the CHPS compound will contribute immensely to the saving of lives of the people of Akokofe and its environs.

He added that the facility will be very helpful to the pregnant and expecting mothers, children and the aged who have to access healthcare in far communities.
