Yendi Municipal Hospital receives $22, 000 worth of equipment
Ghana West African Mission (GWAM), United States of America (USA) through their Ghanaian Partner Organization Rural Water Development Programme Church of Christ (RWDP-COC) has donated Hospital Equipment worth $22,000 US dollars to the Yendi Municipal Hospital.

The Organization is a social wing of the Church Of Christ Ghana concerned with the social, spiritual, and economic needs of the poor and needy in society through the provision of safe drinking water, sanitation, and hygiene services.

Some of the items presented include; a large quantity of theatre equipment, gloves, drips, other assorted consumables, clutches, mattresses, containers for storing instruments, wheelchairs, sofa chairs, liquid soap, oxygen monitor for babies, dental equipment including others.

Mr. Nathaniel Adams Junior Project Director of Rural Water Development Programme – Church Of Christ who presented the items to the Yendi Municipal Hospital on behalf of the organization indicated that Arkansas Surgical Hospital in the United States Of America (USA) presented the items to GWAM for onward donation to the Yendi Municipal Hospital in Ghana

The Yendi hospital is a referral facility within the Eastern Corridor.

Mr Adams Junior hoped the equipment will go a long way to serve the people in the area.

Hajia Hadjara Haruna, Yendi District Director of Health Service who received the items on behalf of the hospital thanked the donors for the kind gesture and assured the donors that the equipment would be put to good use for the benefit of the people in the area.

Dr. Ayuba Abdulai, the Municipal Medical Superintendent of the hospital said they lacked hospital beds in the wards.

He explained that most of the beds were broken down compelling some of the patients to lie on the floor in the wards.

He hoped that they would continue to receive assistance to help the hospital.

Mr Josiah Tilton Executive Director GWAM said one of their members was admitted to Arkansas Surgical Hospital in USA for an operation on her knee and while on admission the lady appealed to the hospital for the equipment touching them to present the equipment to GWAM for further presentation to the Yendi Hospital in Ghana.
