Management of IFS Financial Services on Thursday presented a cheque for GH¢ 5000 and books to the Suhum Senior High Technical School in the Eastern Region to support the school’s 50th Anniversary celebration.

The books included 50 motivational books written by Emmanuel Dei-Tumi titled; “Your Talents Creates Wealth and “Success is More Than Luck” with work books and 10 daily desktop quotes.

Mr Kojo Ohene-Kyei, Chief Executive Officer of IFS Financial Services, said the cheque, which forms part of the company’s corporate social responsibility, was to support the purchase of the school’s cadet uniforms.

Mr Onene-Kyei said the company believed in supporting the transformation of lives of people and had engaged in other social interventions including donations towards potable water supply, health delivery and religious programmes.

He said IFS Financial Services was partnering the school to develop their talents adding that the gesture demonstrated the company’s passion for developing and improving the outlook of young people in society.

Mr Ohene-Kyei said developing the mindset of young people must be a shared responsibility and, therefore, called on all to rise to the challenge and build a generation to transform the country.

He said the company was incorporated and licensed by Bank of Ghana in 2007 to operate as a Finance House under the Non-Bank Financial Institutions Act, 2008 (Act 774).

Mr Ohene-Kyei said IFS operated an asset management subsidiary company, IFS Capital Management Limited, which was regulated by the Securities and Exchange Commission of Ghana.

He said IFS flagship products include IFS Fixed Deposits; IFS Enterprise Account; IFS Call Account; IFS Premium Account; and IFS Flexi Save.

Other products with competitive rates are the IFS Property Completion Loan; IFS Church Builder; IFS School Builder; IFS Life Booster; IFS  Enterprise Loan; IFS Import Loan; IFS Flexi Credit; and IFS Trade Finance.

Dr Kwabena Kwakye Yeboah, Headmaster of the School, commended management of IFS, old students and organisations who supported the school in celebrating its Golden Jubilee Anniversary.

He said the school was opened in December 1963 as Boys’ Senior High School with 71 students. It now has a total population of 1,400 students offering General Arts, Business, Science, Vocational and Technical programmes.

He said activities earmarked for the anniversary include coral night, health walk, debates, speech and prize giving day, cultural display and thanksgiving service.
