Sekyere Central elects new PM

Assembly Members of Sekyere Central District in the Ashanti Region have elected Mr. Boakye Boateng Lawrence as Presiding Member (PM) to steer affairs of the Assembly.

Mr Boateng was announced new PM of the assembly after in a landslide victory which saw him pull an amazing 28 votes while his contender Mr. Asare Kwaku Brefo amassed only 7 votes out of 41 eligible votes cast.

Speaking after his resounding victory, the new Presiding Member appealed to the Assembly members to put up their best in an effort to see their electoral areas developed.

He added that for the Assembly to meet the criteria for Functional Operation and Assessment Tool (FOAT), the house needed to attend sub-committee, executive and general meetings regularly and that members must brace themselves for it.

The District Chief Executive (DCE) Mr. Benjamin Kingsley Koduah congratulated the Presiding Member for the overwhelming victory and said the assembly is solidly behind him.

He urged the Presiding Member to introduce measures that would help in the development of every community within the District.
