Gushegu Assembly endorses MCE
Assembly members in Gushegu municipality of the Northern Region have endorsed the nomination of Mr Robert Dawuni Yaja as Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of the area.

All thirty-five Assembly members voted “Yes” representing 100 percent endorsement for Mr Dawuni Yaja, who, prior to his appointment served as Presiding Member for the Assembly.

He was appointed MCE for Gushegu by President Akufo-Addo and announced by Minister for Local Government, Decentralization and Rural Development, Dan Botwe at the Ministry of Information on Sunday, 19 September, 2021.


Speaking at the meeting after his confirmation, the Minister expressed his profound gratitude to the Regional Minister, Alhaji Shanni Alhassan Shaibu and Member of Parliament for the area, Alhassan Tampuli for their maximum support and assistance during the process.


He also thanked the Northern Regional Coordinating Director, the outgone Municipal Chief Executive, Musah Issah, Chiefs, NPP and NDC constituency executives among others for their backing.


The MCE concluded by pledging to operate an open door policy to foster the growth of the municipality. He therefore called on Members to deliberate on issue devoid of partisan politics to help bring development to the area.
