The USD89, 000 worth health facility is expected to improve healthcare delivery to residents of the area and comes with consulting rooms and wards, nurses’ quarters, offices for doctors, accounts department and administration. It is also National Health Insurance Scheme accredited.

Speaking with ghanadistricts.com, Mr Joseph Owusu, who is the district Chief Executive of the area stated that even though the project was sponsored by the Japan Embassy in Ghana, the agreement and all document were signed by the previous government led by the former DCE, Fusini Donkor.

“As a District, we are supposed to have a hospital, and since the government has not been able to build one for us, we felt that it is important to take a step while waiting for the government,” he said.

Mr Joseph Owusu commended His Excellency, Kaoru Yoshimura, the Japanese Ambassador in Ghana, Former DCE and entire Sekyere Afram Plains Assembly heads and staff for their efforts in ensuring smooth completion of the project.

Present at the inauguration were His Excellency, Kaoru Yoshimura, the Japanese Ambassador in Ghana, Mr. Simon Osei Mensah, Ashanti Regional Minister, Alex Adomako Mensah, MP for Sekyere Afram Plains Constituency, Joseph Owusu-District Chief Executive and a host of others.
