Minister charges contractor to expedite work on Nalerigu bridge
The Minister for Roads and Highways, Hon. Kwesi Amoako Atta has urged contractors constructing the Nalerigu Bridge in the East Mamprusi District to expedite action to enable work finish on time.

The new concrete bridge will replace the recently collapsed wooden bridge at “Za-ari”, a community in the district.

 

Mr. Amoako Atta made the call when he together with some top government officials paid a working visit to the project site to ascertain for himself the extent of work done on the project.

 

 

 

The Minister, in a brief interview noted that, the bridge, when is completed, would boost transportation and improve trade and between Nalerigu and Bunkpurugu.

 

He therefore charged the contractor to work assiduously to ensure that the project is completed on time to ensure its intended purpose.

 

 

The Minister for Local government and rural development, Hajia Alima Mahama, on her part, also took up the challenge to ensure that the road is asphalted to help improve transportation.

 

She said the development would be in line with the president’s vision of ensuring that rough and untarred roads across the country are upgraded to ease movement and facilitate trade in the country.

 

 

On their part, engineers and workers at site also assured the minister and his team that they would work hard to fix the bridge on time to make it motorable.

 

Among the minister’s entourage include the Member of Parliament (MP) of the Constituency Hajia Alima Mahama, the deputy Northern regional minister, Solomon Boar, Northern Regional director of Highways Mr Atsu, the Districts Chief Executive (DCE) of the East Mamprusi District Mr Abdul- Nashir Danladi among others.

 

 

Meanwhile, Mr. Amoako Atta and his team also paid a courtesy call to the Nayiri of the land and informed him of their mission.
