$1million per constituency policy will help put our roads in good shape - DCE.
The Adansi South District Assembly approved the Executive Committee Report which was presented to the house by Hon. Francis Ankomah the DCE on Monday 10th July, 2017, during the First General Assembly Meeting.

The committee’s report touched on a wide range of issues which included the agriculture sector, education, revenue generation, the need to safeguard the assembly’s properties especially lands, health and sanitation.

The rest are bad attitudes of nurses at New Edubiase Hospital towards patients, teenage pregnancy, revenue generation, inauguration of Area Councils, the need to provide staff bungalows for the Assembly staff and bad roads in the district.

The Executive Committee proposed that more resources should be giving the District Agriculture Directorate embark on intensive public education on how to control the Fall Armyworm, the demolition of the Girls’ Dormitory at New Edubiase SHS, Abrogate all contracts which have been breached, resource the Social Welfare and Community Development to sensitize the youth on the menace of teenage pregnancy in the district and the mechanization of all bore holes in the district to reduce frequent breakdowns.

When the floor was opened for discussion of the report most of the assembly members were not happy about the deplorable nature of the roads in the district, most of those who caught the eye of the Presiding Member lamented over the bad nature of the roads in their electoral areas and called on the DCE to do something about it.






The DCE Hon. Francis Ankomah in his response to the call from the Assembly Members on the state of the roads in the district disclosed that the government has tasked the District Feeder Road Engineer to audit all the major roads in the district and come out with a comprehensive report to enable the government to take decision on it. “We are lucky we have two constituencies in the district, I am disclosing to you that about 40% of the one million dollars of each constituency will be used in the road sector so that by the four years of NPP rule most of the roads will be in good shape, the DCE posited.

The District Chief Executive also said that there is the need for the Assembly Members to help in the mobilization of revenue in their areas of jurisdictions, to enable the Assembly to improve on the internally generated revenue. “The Assembly can reduce the hardship of the people in your area if we have more internally generated revenue because we have absolute control over how we can use it to our advantage. There are certain things we cannot use the Common Fund to do but the local revenue can do; let us all contribute to this agenda to make the work in the district easy”, the DCE said.

After a lengthy discussion of the report the house unanimously accepted it for it to be implemented.

Hon. Jonas Morris Woode the Presiding Member of the Assembly thanked the Executive Committee for the recommendation in the report and the Assembly Members for the zeal they put up to shape the report in other for it to yield its intended vision.
