Chief donates to schools in his community
The chief of Wasa Nananko, Nana Boakye Danquah ll who doubled as a member of Gyaase group of Wasa Amenfi Traditional Council has donated 100 desks to two primary schools in his community to foster educational level in the area.

The entire community of Wasa Nananko in the Wasa Amenfi East district of the Western region on Friday turned into jubilant mood following the donations made by Nana Boakye Danquah ll in his own capacity as the chief of the area.

The 100 desks worth GHC10, 000.00 were presented to Nananko R/C and D/A primary schools in support of educational improvement in the community

Nana Boakye Danquah in his speech revealed inadequate desks as one of the biggest challenges affecting schools in Wasa Nananko, and has decided to step in to support.

“As a chief of Wasa Nananko, quality education is my priority but our schools are facing much challenges of which shortage of desks is one of it. Though we have appealed to the assembly but the challenges still persist. I can't be reluctant as a chief for our cherished community thus seeing it necessary to inter vain with little support I can provide" he stated.

According to the chief, they felt neglected by the assembly as they have shirked their responsibilities towards the schools and the community.

He called on the assembly as their only source of channel to throw more light on Wasa Nananko community in the area of electricity expansion, provision of potable water, improved supply of teaching and learning aids among others because there has been population increase over the period.

Nana Boakye Danquah ll again called for the completion of their school blocks which has been a 'god' for some years to provide infrastructural avenue for the pupils with well-equipped and professional teachers for the two schools at Wasa Nananko.

Some of the pupils revealed to Kaakyire Kwasi Afari at the durbar that, they have been studying on the floor for the past 4 years without desk making learning unpleasant on their part of which some teachers confirmed.

However, according to some pupils, the donation made by the chief will at least help bring situation down.
