‘NABCO will equip graduates through process of value addition and training’ – Prez Akufo-Addo
President Akufo Addo has said that the flagship Nations Builders Corp (NABCO) initiative by the NPP government will help unearth the raw talent of graduates and also equip them with requisite skills through the process of value addition and training.

According to him, the scheme will also restore hope and dignity among the unemployed youth of the country.

It will be recalled that the President on May 1st 2018, successfully launched the Nations Builders Corp programme at the Great Hall of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) in Kumasi.

The programme he said at the launch was designed to assist the public sector delivery needs of the country.


Speaking at a colourful passing out ceremony for the over one hundred thousand (100,000) applicants of NABCO at the Black Star square in Accra today, President Akufo-Addo, congratulated the trainees for taken an innovative step to lay a solid foundation of their future career and at the same time contribute their quota to the growth and development of the country.


He said the 100,000 trainees will be employed in seven critical aspects of the economy that is education, health, agriculture, digitalization, enterprise, civic education and revenue mobilization adding that the group will also assist the realization of government’s vision of educating the population and building a robust industrialized and well managed economy and delivery of good governance.


The President further revealed that his government was investing GHs 3 million of taxpayers’ money into the programme; hence trainees should be dutiful and demonstrate a good sense of effectiveness and productivity in areas they have been assigned to work .

On his part, Coordinator of Nation Builders Corp, Dr Anyars Ibrahim, said that the vision of Ghana has been laid to prepare the intellectual infrastructure and explore the emerging opportunities through a transformed Ghana and engineer new attitude to citizenship and nation building.


According to him, an average district with 350 NABCO trainees will bring to the district a monthly basis of GHs 245,000 into the local economy. This, he added will inject about GHs 940,000 in one district of the country annually.

“In model terms, citing enterprise Ghana with 4000 trainees, is a further investment of GHs 100 million Per Anum into the private sector enterprise to help grow micro small medium enterprises as well as support the flagship initiative “One district, One factory”, he added.
