The government of Ghana as part of measures to address the health facility gap in the country initiated an agenda, christened 111 for the construction of a total of 111 District and Regional hospitals across the country.

Each District hospital facility will be designed as a single-story campus including patient reception & processing, administration, pharmacy, labs / diagnostics, OPD, physiotherapy, public health, A&E, surgical ward, pediatric ward, maternity ward, isolation ward and surgery.

The primary care facilities will be supported by other structures like mortuary, waiting pavilions, security pavilions, residences for families and doctors (separated) laundry, waste management, energy centre, kitchen, central store, and maintenance yard.

When constructed in Prang, the hospital will be the biggest of its kind in and around the Pru areas and serve thousands of people in and outside the District.

In a short ceremony on Thursday, 23rd September, 2021, the traditional rulers of Prang, led by the Omanhene of Prang Nana Kwadwo Nyarko III handed 20 acres of land to the contractors to commence work.
The contractors briefly assured the Chiefs and people of Prang of their readiness to earnestly commence work on site.

The Member of Parliament for Pru West, Hon Stephen P Jalulah, who was joined on phone stated that “I want to assure the people of Pru West that we would closely monitor the project to achieve best results”.

He further noted that “It is a humbling moment to serve my people at a time when such monumental health investment is consciously made by the Akufo-Addo led government to transform the sorry narrative of our health infrastructure.

“We would continue to work in the best interest of our people to bring more development to our communities”, MP remarked.

The Chiefs and People couldn’t hide their excitement; they thank the MP for his wonderful leadership so far.
