According to the Mayor this is a first time in the history of the Fourth Republic that a President has given such a dedicated attention to dealing with filth by creating a Ministry such as the Sanitation Ministry.

One year into the Akuffo-Addo government we have cleared 42 illegal refuse dumps sites in Accra, the Mayor said in an interview.

He noted that with such evacuation done, there is the need to put out the figures in the public domain for Ghanaians to appreciate the intervention undertaken by AMA, as part of the crusade to meet the President's vision of making Accra the cleanest city.

We do not pride ourselves in the achievement chalk so far, because we have not gotten there yet, in 2013 to 2014 there were outbreak of cholera in the country especially Accra over 200 people died.

As a result of our clean Ghana agenda in 2016 up to date there has not been a single cholera outbreak case reported in Accra, he emphasised

This are facts that you need to know, where we have gotten to with our crusade and where we want to go, we should be commended and supported criticism against us in the fight against filth is misplaced that is the truth of the mater, he added.
