BIBIANI A B: DCE calls for DVLA office in the district
The District Chief Executive of the Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai District Assembly, Alfred Amoah has appealed to officials at the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA) to as a matter of urgency consider establishing DVLA office at the Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai district to encourage people particular motorbike owners to register their motorbikes.

This, he noted, will facilitated vehicle and motorbike registration in the district and save the people the ordeal of traveling to Kumasi or Sunyani to access such services.


According to him, the difficulty associated with a number of motorbike users not willing to register their bikes stem from non-availability of the DVLA office in the district.



The DCE was speaking when the authorities of the DVLA and Ghana Road safety Commission led by the National Road Safety Ambassador, Gabby Adu Gyamfi visited the district to register and give license to Motor and Aboboya drivers.


The event was on the theme: "Carefulness on our roads", and the DCE used the occasion to admonish drivers and all road users to be extra careful on the road to avoid unnecessary loss of lives which go a long way to have serious repercussions for many families because they lost their breadwinner to road accident or he /she has been incapacitated.





The District Police Commander, Nana Kumi also added his voice to the call for the establishment of DVLA office in the district to facilitate testing and to aid the work of the police as well.



He was full of praise for drivers plying the Kumasi road for their due diligence on the road since they have not recorded any accident since he resumed post in the district.







He appealed to the drivers, motor riders to be careful as the festive season approaches to avoid carnage on the roads.
