Aowin: Assembly supports 200 persons with disabilities
The Aowin Municipal Assembly in the western region has supported over 200 people living with disabilities.

The support came in the form of items distribution, which include: fridges, hair driers, sewing machines, physical cash all amounting to GHs 105,700 .The donations were in different category such as educational support, skills training, medical support and income generation.

Delivering the items to the beneficiaries, the Municipal chief Executive for Aowin, Mr Samuel Adu-Gyamfi, emphasized the government, and for that matter the assembly’s desire to alleviate the challenges of physically challenged and make lives bearable for them.

The MCE advised those who found themselves in various schools that the assembly has been supporting them to study hard in order to be successful in various professions in the future.


He called on those who in skills training section to be humble to their masters and mistresses in order to receive proper training and come out successfully.

The MCE also charged beneficiaries of various cash amounts to use the monies judiciously in order to expand their businesses.



“You are not the only people who are to benefit from this found. Those who did not receive the monies will also be benefiting when the next found was available”.

The MCE also revealed 30 communities in the municipality will soon be benefiting from Livelihood Empowerment Against Poverty (LEAP) programme, adding that 1,260 households are expected to benefit LEAP programme.
