WA E: Assembly distributes 49,250 cashew seedlings
Wa East District Assembly in the Upper West Region has raised over 49,250 cashew seedlings for distribution to farmers under the Plantingfor Export Programmes.

The seedlings are to be distributed to nearly 1,330 farmers in the district.
District Chief Executive of the area, Mr. Jotie Moses stated that, the Assembly has also supported farmers in the district with training to equip them with skills to effectively manage their cashew plantation and ensure success.
Speaking with Ghanadistricts.com, Mr Jotie noted that, cashew farming had the potential of creating over one thousand of jobs as it is well adapted to the climate in the area.
He therefore, called on the youth in the district to take advantage of the government’s policies to create jobs for themselves and reduce poverty in the district.
