This echoes this year’s theme “celebrating Peace and Unity”. For at 62, Ghana should have been doing things independently devoid of external control and support. As such being self- reliant, traditional wears like the fuugu would have been industrialized just like all other made in Ghana goods.

This was contained in the MCE’s statement delivered on the 62nd independence anniversary parade held at the Ejisu Secondary technical School Park on Wednesday 6th march 2019.

The MCE, Madam Beatrice Serwaa Derkyi, stated that indigenous industries will have promoted internal trade and also offer the opportunity to export the excess goods to generate the needed revenue for development. Adding that this was what necessitated one district, one factory policy and thus Ghana beyond aid which implied the country could create its own wealth and live independently without external support.

This she said brought about the planting for food and jobs initiative by the NPP government among others. Thus the produce was meant to feed the industries and also create jobs for the teaming youth.

This was the desire of the founding fathers especially Osaegyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah when he declare on the eve of independence that “Ghana our beloved country is free forever but the independence of Ghana is meaningless unless there is total libration of the entire African continent”. This were the words of the first president of Ghana, Dr. Kwame Nkrumah. So the ultimate change from colonialism to independence has been celebrated since independence on 6th march 1957 and this year is not an exception which is captioned under the theme “celebrating peace and unity.”

For the love of peace the president has directed all party vigilantism be disbanded in the country and that anyone caught in any unlawful act will be severely dealt with .
