S TONGU: Sogakope-Lome Trans Boundary Water Supply Project expected to take-off - DCE
The District Chief Executive (DCE) of South Tongu, Mr. Emmanuel Louis Agama has said the Sogakope - Lome Trans Boundary Water Supply Project is expected to take off next year.

Mr. Agama in his speech at the 3rd Ordinary Meeting of the 3rd session of the 7th Assembly noted that, the water supply project which was jointly initiated by the Government of Ghana and Togo government is aimed at pumping raw water from the Lower Volta Basin in Sogakope and supply treated water to the city of Lome and its surrounding communities in Togo.

Additionally, rural and urban communities along the road from Sogakope through Akatsi and Aflao to Lome as well as all other communities along the route of the pipeline in Ghana would also benefit from treated water.

According to the DCE, a consultative meeting was held successfully involving chiefs and opinion leaders from the communities at the project site and transmission line in South Tongu District adding that the project when completed will solve the prolong water crisis in the District.
