ASUNAFO N: MCE donates cements to Ayomso basic school

The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of Asunafo North Municipal Assembly in the Brong Ahafo Region, Mr Yaw Osei Boahen, has donated 20 bags of cement to help speed-up work on a new classroom block for the Ayomso L/A Primary B School.

The MCE made the donation when he paid a working visit to some selected basic schools in the area.

In his presentation, the MCE noted that, recent developments in the educational sector were clear indication of the government’s intention to improve teaching and learning.

He encouraged the pupils to be respectful to their teachers and parents and take their studies very serious in order to benefit from the ‘Free SHS’ policy.

The headmaster of the school, who received the donation on behalf of the school, thanked the MCE and called on other corporate bodies and philanthropist to emulate the MCE’s kind gesture

In a development, Mr. Boahen has assured that frantic efforts are being made by the assembly to provide basic schools with adequate desks to help enhance teaching and learning in the area.

He gave the assurance after some head teachers had requested for more desks to matchup the increasing enrollment levels.

“I have already started distributing some to the basic schools in the municipality; it is my heart desire to let every child get school desk and proper table and chair for the teachers” he said.

The MCE was accompanied Mr Jones Afiriyie Anto and Mr. Agyemang Duah, Presiding Member (PM) and deputy planning officer of the Assembly respectively.
