Construction of Medical Theatre at Issa health Centre underway

The District Chief Executive, Mr Nadi Imoro Sands on behalf of the Assembly has officially awarded a contract for the construction of a medical theatre at Issa health centre.

Mr. Sands said, the essence of the health centre is to cater for the health needs of the beloved district.

He stated “my dream of the district is to have a well-function hospital”.

The Medical theatre will have the following components; Anaesthetic, waiting room, two scraps, three changing room, two operation room,

recovery room and office space.

Moreover, Mr Nadi Imoro in an interview with Ghanadistricts.com, gave a health statistics about Daffiama Bussie Issa Assembly.

He stated that, the Assembly has 18 health facilities in the district, 5 health centres, and 13 chips compounds.

The average distance to a health facility is 9 km which lags behind the National target of 5-kilometers maximum distance.

He again spoke on the nurse-patients ratio which stands at 1:140 and the district has neither a hospital nor medical doctor.

The DCE also disclosed the district does not have an ambulance service in the district to facilitate movement whenever there are emergency

referral case.

Mr Sands Imoro pleaded with individuals, NGO and Ministry of Health to come and support them with the ambulance.
