ADB Business Department keeps fit with a walk on Aburi Mountain

The Business Department of the Agriculture Development Bank (ADB) has undertaken a health walk over the weekend, with four hundred staff members from Accra and Koforidua branch climbing the Aburi mountain which is six-kilometer in distance.

Manager in charge of Business Department of the bank, Edward Ian-Armah Mensah in an interview with journalists noted that the event had been successful with ninety-five percent of the people who started climbing the hill from Ayi-Mensah finishing at Peduase Lodge.

“We believe a healthy mind lives in a healthy body and it is time to interact with business as we shared brochures, talk to people, they kept the brochures, we had ninety-five percent of them finishing the walk which was quite hectic”.

He further pointed out that, it is the believe of the bank that such exercise would help cut down on their health bills and encouraged that more people should come out and have such good healthy walks.

In the future we going to have such events, he said. “We do have our annual one which is for the entire bank and going to happen in October, but for this event for the business department it is first of its kind”.

“We wanted to get our staffs move from the department to come out in their numbers; they have shown that they are strong and prepared to be more productive, it is not every day that you are thinking about profit we need to do something that goes beyond profit”.

According to him, as a social obligation to the communities, what they are doing for the communities to benefit them is to sensitize them, build their capacity and let them understand that health is very important and it is not always money and profit.

Money is good likewise profit, but you need to impact the society as well, once people are healthy, they can build brand Ghana and there would be more businesses which would be good for the economy.

As part of promoting healthy life style, Kasapreko Company Limited supported the ADB Business Health Walk with Awake bottle natural, flavored waters and coconut water to the staff members who participated in the walk.
