Gabriel Ansah Sasraku, the out-going presiding member and Michael Owusu both had 32 and 30 votes respectively out of 68 membership. Thus neither of them got two-thirds majority to be declared a winner by the electoral commission.

They were therefore given 15 minutes break to canvass and were later called for the second round. During the second round voting, Hon. Ansah Sasrako Gabriel obtained 33 votes whiles Michael Owusu had 31 votes which still ended in a dead-lock. And it was to be rescheduled for an unspecified date.

The Municipal Electoral Officer, Mr. Ofori Gyamfi Sampson supervised the elections.

The MCE in her speech during the meeting noted some of her achievements during her short period of heading the municipality.

She mentioned her visits to the communities during her familiarization tour, Farmers day celebrations and the on-going projects such as the maternity block at Kwadaso, dormitory block at Ejisu Secondary Technical School and emergency block at Ejisu Government Hospital among others.
