According to him, the elevation of the Jomoro district to a municipal status this year by President Akufo-Addo, places higher responsibility on the Assembly; hence the need to provide the needed infrastructure to match the new status.

The MCE, noted this when, Council of State member for Western Region, Madam Eunice Jackline Buah Asamoah-Hinneh paid a working visit to the area last week.

The visit was to afford her the opportunity to familiarize herself with the current issues of national concern and other developmental needs of the region so as to ensure that these issues are addressed accordingly.

Mr. Kofie, in his welcome address described the Minister’s visit as landmark in the process of deepening cooperation and political relations between national and local governance institutions and thus pledged the Assembly's support for her successful tenure in office.

He also ceased the opportunity to inform her that the municipality has had its fair share of the national cake under the NPP government in terms of projects and programmes.

He disclosed that the school feeding programme has been expanded to include nine more schools in the municipality, adding that the government through the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection, has also added thirty communities onto the Livelihood Empowerment against poverty.
