KRACHI W: Contracts awarded for more educational infrastructure

The Krachi West District Assembly has awarded contracts for the construction of a number of educational facilities to help address the infrastructure inadequacies in the education sector.

District Chief Executive, Osei-Nti Douglas announced this at the first ordinary general assembly meeting of the second assembly.

These projects include:

1. Construction of 2no. 3-unit classroom blocks and ancillary facilities at Old Wurutor and Ehiamankyene

2. Construction of 3-unit classroom block at Kwakuae

3. Construction of 3-unit classroom block at Kpolo

4. Construction of 6-unit classroom block and ancillary facilities at English Arabic Basic School, Kete-Krachi

5. Construction of 6-unit classroom block and ancillary facilities at Bonmodin Primary School

6. Construction of 6-unit classroom block and ancillary facilities at Twereso Primary School

7. Construction of 6-unit classroom block and ancillary facilities at Ntewusae

8. Construction of 6-unit classroom block and ancillary facilities at Sabaja

9. Construction of 2-storey dormitory block for Midwifery Training School at Gyengyen

10. Renovation of Dining Hall Block at Krasec

11. Construction of 2-storey boys’ dormitory block for Krastec

12. Completion of Assembly block at Krasec

13. Construction of 2-unit kindergarten block with ancillary facilities at Kete-Krachi Primary school

He also disclosed that the assembly is concerned about the continues decline in the educational performance in the district, adding that the Assembly is in the process of establishing a model School in the district to help boost the performance of education in the district.

He also praised the commencement of the free senior high school policy that is aimed at bringing relief to parents and ensure increase access to secondary education.
