According to the residents, the decision to award the road on contract is a dream come true for them because several efforts since Ghana’s independence for the road to be fixed proved futile.

"This is a project their ancestors had appealed to all governments, since independent, to construct the deplorable roads that has affected their daily activities for years, but to no avail. It is only your government, Your Excellency that has listened favourably to us and has awarded the contract to construct our road and also add us to the rural electrification project.” Chief of Kyekyewere Nana Osei Marfo III has stated.

Nana Osei Marfo III who made the commendation during the maiden meeting of Kyekyewere Youth Association noted with great relief that, their ancestors would roll happily in their graves ostensibly that the President has fulfilled their heart’s desires and ”certainly would wish and pray that, he stays longer enough to make our country greater and stronger.”

Chairman of the Kyekyewere Youth Association Samuel Osei noted that “for almost 200 years since their ancestors came to settle in that community, no sitting President has ever mentioned their name in their budgets hence their gratitude to the President for your show of love”.

Mr Osei encouraged all citizens to take advantage of “the numerous policies and programmes rolled out by the Government to improve their well-being whiles actively supporting the “One Village, One Dam”, “One District, One Factory”, Planting for Food and Jobs, and many other policies and programmes”.

The Kyekyewere residents appealed to the government to include them on the board of the Nyinahin bauxite projects and also employed most youth from the town when the project starts.

A patron of the association and a senior accountant at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital Gabriel Nyame promised his continues support to the youth whiles urging them to support government and its policies and programmes.
