Sagnarigu MCE commissioned three model schools

The Municipal Chief Executive for Sagnarigu, Hon Iddrisu Mariam has commissioned three model school blocks in the municipality.

The models schools, a GETFUND project which includes a day care/Kindergarten at Our Lady of Fatima in Nyanshegu and six unit classrooms for Choggu Demonstrations School in Choggu and Nangbagu Yapala School in Nangbagu.

Both infrastructure includes ancillary facilities; teachers’ offices, Library, Storerooms, urinary and 4 seater KVIP.

According to the MCE, the project forms part of the NPP government’s commitment to solve the infrastructure deficit in the education sector, adding that, the new school blocks will ease the decongestion in the schools.

Hon Mariam said, the government was up to task of providing the facilities for effective teaching and learning in the school and therefore urged parents to send their wards to school.

“Now parents have no excuse not to send their children to school because education is free from the Kindergarten to the SHS level”. She said.

The MCE noted that, the NPP government under Nana Addo Danquah Akufo-Addo has prioritized education and in his wisdom introduced the Free SHS to ensure every Ghanaian child attain higher education.

She also advised the teachers of the school and the Ghana Education Service to take proper care of the schools and ensure proper maintenance culture.

Hon Mariam again urged the teachers of the school to plant trees to serve as windbreak to protect the building from natural disaster.

Heads of the beneficial schools expressed their profound gratitude the government and pledged to take good care of the school building to enable it stand the test of time.

The Municipal Education Director of Sagnarigu, said, the GES will monitor the activities of the schools to ensure that head of institutions takes good care it.
