IDIF on course in Akuapem North

As part of the Government initiative of One District One Factory (IDIF), a fully Automated Meat and eggs processing Factory is under construction and currently 80 percent complete at Apasare in Akuapem North Municipality of the Eastern region.

The factory, which is expected to be completed in October this year, will commence operations to produce eggs and chicken for local and foreign markets.

This Factory is also expected to create about 1,000 jobs for the people of Akuapem North through the out grower scheme being developed by the Municipal Assembly and Akro Farms for the production of raw material base for the factory.

The construction of the Factory has led to the employment of 212 artisans in the area who apart from earning their income, have picked up the skills in the construction of Pre-Fabricated structures.

The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for the area, Dennis Aboagye was elated about the progress of work when he toured the facility.
