Chinderi CHPS compound commissioned

A Community-based Health Planning and Services (CHPS) compound has been commissioned for the chiefs and people of Chinderi, a community in the Volta Region.

The facility, which will provide accessible healthcare to Chinderi and its environ was financed by the US Systems for Health, a non-governmental organisation based in the USA.

Features in the facility includes a general OPD, delivery room, consulting rooms, nurses station, labor ward.

Addressing the gathering at the commissioning, the Country Director of the organization said, he is hopeful that the facility will change the story earlier told about health care delivery in the District and urged health workers and the residents to adopt the best maintenance practice to preserve the facility for future generations.

The Director of Health Service for the District in his remarks said, the provision of the facility will help reduce maternal and infant mortality rate, provide and promote services such as child welfare, ante-natal and post-natal care services, health education and counseling services”.

He expressed his appreciation to US Systems for Health.

Speaking in an interview with Ghanadistricts.com, the District Chief Executive (DCE) of the area Mr. Augestine Appiah said, he is full of appreciation to the organisation for supporting the district with a facility they have needed for sometimes now and called for more support.
