DCE meets executives of persons with disabilities association
The District Management Team in the Kwahu East Districts Assembly led by the District Chief Executive, Mr. Isaac Agyapong, the District Coordinating Director, the District Planning Officer, the District Finance Officer and District Budget Officer, has met the Executives of the Association of Persons with Disability (PWD) in the District.

Speaking at the gathering, Mr. Samuel Badu-Baiden, the District Coordinating Director explained to the executives of the Association that, the new policy direction of their portion of the common Fund, which is " disable portion of the common fund will be invested in skill training or empowerment of individuals".

In an interview with Ghanadistricts.com, the District Chief Executive Mr. Isaac Agyapong, took his time to elaborate on the new policy direction of the Persons with Disability portion of the common fund, indicating that over 50 people with disabilities will be empowered economically into business ventures.

He added that "working tools such as hair dryers, barbering tools, sewing machines, popcorn machines among others will be provided to individuals who would be able to learn the trade.



Mr. Agyapong stated that, six and ten percent of the fund will be used to pay school fees, medical bills and assistive devices for people with disability within the district.

To this end, he advised the Fund Management Committee to be abreast of the new policy guidelines.

The leadership of the PWDs thanked the government for this new policy direction and were grateful to the District Chief Executive and his Management Team, saying, “This is a policy that will help the PWDs to be more resourceful and self-dependent.
