President of the 2010/2011 academic year of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW) branch of the Tertiary Education Confederacy (TESCON) of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Emmanuel Ameyaw, has urged Ghanaians to exercise restraint for the Government as it works assiduously to keep the country on sound track.

Mr Ameyaw, who is currently aspiring to be voted for the position of the Berekum East Constituency Youth Organiser on the ticket of the NPP, gave the advice on February 19, this year during a campaign outing within the Berekum Municipality of the Brong Ahafo Region.

He stressed that it would be too quick and premature for someone to judge President Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo Addo's Government on the premise that he had allowed hardship to eat into the fabrics of the Ghanaian society, merely to suit their own whims and caprices.

He slightly conceded the fact that the expectations of the general public, with regard to the NPP 2016 manifesto and electioneering campaign, had not been fully met, it was too early to be judgmental judging from the backdrop of the few months the party had been in power, yet initiated lots of interventions to keep the nation back on track.

"The Nana Addo's NPP Government is barely under 2 years but has undertaken outstanding programmes comprising Planting for Food and Jobs; Restoration of Nurses and Teacher Training Allowances; likewise reviving the National Health Insurance Scheme; embarking on the unprecedented Free Senior High Education policy and so on and so forth," intimated the former TESCON President.

He urged the electorates not to lose the confidence reposed in the Government, whilst assuring them that once the debt incurred by the previous Government is being repudiated and the mess caused is being fixed, pragmatic measures had been put in place to relieve the citizenry of any sort of hardship.

Asked what motivated him to vie for the executive position, Mr Ameyaw recalled that endowed with the requisite knowledge, grace and skill in mobilization of people, coupled with diverse international refresher courses in Volunteer Organization, Interactive Communication with the Electorate, Campaign Skills and Oganization, he was poised for action to deliver with superb artistry.
