Akim Oda road construction begins in 2 weeks – Snr Minister reveals
The Government of Ghana (GoG) has awarded contracts for the construction and rehabilitation of the Asamankese-Akim Oda road in the Eastern Region. Ghana’s Senior Minister, Nana Yaw Osafo Marfo has disclosed.

According to the Senior Minister, the government has secured funding for the project, adding that the Akufo-Addo led government remain poised and committed to ensure improvement of all access routes across the country to enhance transportation.

Mr. Osafo Marfo made the disclosure when he joined other dignitaries including the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Community Group of Hospitals, Mr Akwasi Acquah, Member of Parliament of the area, Mr William Quaitoo among other NPP party bigwigs, at the launch of the “Akim Kotoku Educational Trust fund” at Akim Oda to support needy but brilliant students in the area. 

In his keynote address, the Senior Minister further revealed that the awarded road projects include the construction of Akim Oda, Aboabo and Oda Nkwanta roads at an undisclosed amount.


He said, “The roads have been awarded to contractors for work to commence as part of efforts to improve most of our roads”. “I can say on authority that the road has been awarded on contract and so expect work to commence on the project in two weeks’ time”.

He assured that the government through the roads ministry will make sure that there is full monitoring at every stage of the work and also see to it that the project is completed on time and to the expected specifications.

He stated that the Akufo-Addo government was committed to delivering on its campaign promises regardless of the criticisms by certain elements in the opposition.
