Mr Degle who was speaking at the inauguration of the group said the Men and Mother Support group has really improved the life and conditions of pregnant women in the area and assured that the municipal assembly and the health directorate would work hand in hand to renovate an abandoned 6-unit structure for the CHPS to add to the facility.

He also disclosed that the National Health Insurance Authority in some weeks would give accreditation to the facility and believes when this is done it would increase attendance.

He then appealed to the regional representatives of the health services to do all they can to bring the First Lady of the land, Mrs. Akuffo Addo to see for herself the good work the group and the nurses are doing to improve the health care of the people.

The nurse in charge Chellina Appiagyei (RGN) which spoke on the theme: “Controlling Anaemia and malnutrition; the gateway to good health” said inauguration of the association is very significant and timely since this will go a long way to strengthen maternal and child health care in the municipality, adding, they have been able to contribute to reducing Anaemia and malnutrition in the area through awareness and education.

After the ceremony the leader of the group who is also a nurse, Mr Samual Numana pointed out that they want to use the group as a tool in educating the communities on health issues and also on the need to eat right using what we have around us, thus the need to have the CHPS gardens
