The work which involves the removal of the top soil to make way for gravelling and subsequent application of concrete will help solve the perennial flooding of the 18 year old market that hosts over 350 active yam traders not to mention charcoal and maize dealers as well as transporters.

At a brief ceremony to formally begin work on the project, Hon. Kyeremeh said the intervention was to boost trading activities at the weekly market and improve the well-being of traders and transporters who operate at the venue.

In his contribution the District Chief Executive for Atebubu-Amantin Hon. Edward Owusu asked the beneficiaries to reciprocate the gesture by honoring their obligations to the district assembly to ensure adequate resources for increased development.

The 2 phased project being carried out by King-Kay construction and Nana Banahene Enterprise at an estimated cost of GH? 295,000.00 is expected to be completed in 6 months.
