This new support comes just six weeks after the district assembly disbursed their share of the District Assembly’s Common Fund to them.

The District Chief Executive, Mr Bismark Baisie Nkum in his remarks stated “It is about time we equip our brothers and sisters living with disability to be able to go into income generating activities in order that they may be economically independent".

According to Mr Baisie Nkum, the era of people living with disability begging for food will be a thing of the past in his District.

Items distributed include electric corn mill, sewing machines, deep freezers, photo printers and computers for selected number of PWDs.

The DCE hinted of an upcoming set up of multiples of gari processing machines in considered communities to be managed on behalf of the PWDs who have very extreme disabilities.
