Nana Addo visits Kintampo
The President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo Addo as part of his working tour of the newly created Bono East Region, visited Kintampo on Monday, 15th April, 2019.

On hand to welcome the president at the Kintampo Waterfalls where a short ceremony and debar was held where in his honor were the Municipal Executive Mr. Michael Sarkodie Baffo, the Member of Parliament of Kwesi Etu-Bonde, the Municipal Coordinating Director Majeed Ayariga, the Acting President of the Mo Traditional Council, Nana Yaw Abobirim Dampo II, Koronkohene of Nkoranza traditional Council, Nana Effah Guakro IV, the president of Wangara Chiefs and leader of the Council of Zongo Chiefs, Nana Fanyinama III, other Divisional and Zongo Chiefs, Heads of Departments, Civil Society Groups members of Afforestation Task Force, Trainees from the Nation Builders Corp(NABCO), students from the Kintampo College of Health and Well-being, Teachers and Staff of the Ghana Education Service, Executive and supporters of the New Patriotic Party and indigenes of Kintampo.

The President on the other hand visited Kintampo with Regional Minister Bono East, Hon. Kofi Amoakohene, Deputy Regional Minister Bono Eat Hon. Martin Oti Gyarto, Minister for local Government Hajia Alima Mahama, Minister for Roads and Highways Hon. Amoako Atta, Deputy Chief of Staff Hon. Aseuso Boakye, Minister for Lands and Natural Resources Hon. Kwaku Asomah-Kyeremeh, Deputy Minister for Deface Major (Rtd) Derick Oduro, Board Chair-GIPS, Prof. Christopher Ameyaw Ekumfi, the Head of Local Government Service Nana Ato Arthur, and Kwame Baffoe (Abronye), Vice Regional Chair of the New Patriotic Party.


Nana Fanyinama Iii With Some Zongo Chiefs

In his welcome address, Nana Fanyinama III welcome the president to Kintampo and conveyed his dedication and support for the president and strive for development. “I urge you to be bold because it takes boldness and courage to be in your position,” he said. He touted the achievements of the president, indicating Free SHS, NABCO Programme, and Youth in Afforestation among others. Nana Fanyinama thanked the president for bringing development to the door steps of the people through decentralization.

“I urge you to now consider giving the Kintampo fuller falls a facelift to maximize revenue.” Nana Fanyinama bemoaned the spate of armed robbery in the Municipality and on our roads and asked for increase in police personnel and fire-power. He noted the construction of an office for the Ambulance Service, Business Resource Centre and called expedited action in the establishment of a mango processing plant. The construction and tarring of the Kintampo town roads was also given prominence in his speech. Importantly, he said there were 56 electoral areas in the Municipality 79 Assembly members and thus called for the creation of the Kintampo West district with capital at New Longro.

In conclusion, he called for the revamp of the New Longoro and Asantekwa irrigation facilities.



The President in his Keynote address thanked the chiefs and people of Kintampo for rousing welcoming accorded him and reveled in the accolades showered on him. His Excellency the President indicated that, the creation of the Bono East Region was pivotal to his developmental agenda and pledged support for it whiles noting also that, the situating of infrastructure would not only be available to the Regional Capital, Techiman but would be spread across the region.

He called for support for the Bono East Regional Minister and all who would be appointed to the Regional Coordinating Council. He particularly thanked the paramount chief of Techiman for providing land for the siting of the Regional Coordinating Council. He said he had presented 8 vehicles for use of the new Bono East Regional.

The president, his Excellency Nana Akuffo Addo promised to assist in solving the armed robbery menace in conjunction with the Inspector General of police with regards to the Town roads, he indicated and acknowledge the presence of the road minister and said it would be addressed.

“New district needs new constituency” he noted as thus stated that, the creation of the district lies with the electoral commission in creating a new constituency. He assured once there is the green light given the electoral commission. The president also indicated that, there he not been any tax imposed on cashew but rather the initiation of a process to pass a bill on Free Crops Development Board for crops such as cashew and mango.

His Excellency the president then went on to cut tape and commission the constructed canopy walkway at the Kintampo Waterfall.
