KWABRE E: Assembly Members urged to play active role in deliberations
Nana Osei Asibey Bonsu, District Chief Executive (DCE) of Kwabre East in the Ashanti Region has called on Members of the Assembly to play active roles in the deliberations of the Assembly.

He noted that, the Assemblies structures were made to promote effective citizens' participation in decision making and also to help deepen grassroot participation in governance.

The DCE, in view of this, urged Assembly Members to hold frequent forums with their electorates on specific projects and programmes initiated by the assembly in order for them to have fair idea about the work of the Assembly.



He was speaking at a workshop organized by the assembly to help sensitize its members about the various functions of the assembly.

The two-day ongoing workshop is on the Theme: Residential Orientation and Skills Trading Course for Strengthening the Capacity of Assembly Persons for Effective Role Performance”.

In his opening remarks, Mr. Bonsu called for better partnership between the Kwabre East Assembly and other neighboring Assemblies to promote unity and achieve a common goal of improving livelihoods.



Also speaking at the workshop, the facilitator, Dr. Charles Asare Bamfo of Team consults and Associates, admonished members to instill good leadership skills in their work and always put the interest of the people at heart.

He advised them to ensure effectiveness and efficiency in their performance to help accelerate development in the area.

Mr Bonsu further also called on the assembly to strengthen the Unit Committees to ensure that assembly members enjoy their work and make sure that the people are well-served.



Meanwhile, other Municipal and District Chief Executives who were present to share their experiences include the MCE of Mampong Municipal, Mr. Thomas Appiah Kubi and Sekyere Central, Mr Kwadwo Banahene Bediako.
