Wa East DCE donates 500 dual desks to needy schools

The District Chief Executive of Wa East District Assembly Mr. Moses Jotie, in the company of the District Coordinating Director and other key officers of the Assembly handed over, 500 dual student desks to the District Director of Education for onward distribution to needy schools.

Mr. Jotie stated that the donation will go a long way to improve teaching and learning with 1000 pupils getting a comfortable sitting places for their studies.

He indicated that the Assembly was going to provide more desks until all the schools have enough to promote teaching and learning

He used the opportunity to appeal to other actors in the education space to help the assembly bridge the over 9000 furniture deficit in the District.

The District Coordinating Director also called on parents to support their wards to complement the efforts of teachers and government to shape the lives of the children.

The District Director of Education, Mr Evans Kpebah, on his part pledged to do more to improve the ranking of the district from the 69th to the first 10 position in the National BECE ranking.
