This appeal was made by the National President of the Cashew Farmers Association of Ghana Nana Adu-Baomponsem VI on behalf of the Association at Wenchi in the Bono East Region.

Speaking in an interview with Ghanadistricts.com Nana Adu-Baomponsem VI alleged that "we (Farmers) heard from the news that government is going to set up a Tree Crop Board which we the Cashew Farmers Association in the country are not in favour and will not affiliated ourselves to any Tree Crop Board".

Nana Adu-Boamponsem VI who is also the Adumhene of Wenchi Traditional Council observed that the association only want the Akufo Addo government to fulfill its promise during the 2016 election campaign.

"We are only quoting the President by his words, the promise he made to us during his campaign tour to solicit for vote from Ghanaians to become the President of this country stated categorically that his government will establish a Cashew Development Board which will be mandated to seek the welfare of its member" Nana Adu-Baomponsem VI explained.

National President also reminded the President to fulfill another promise he made which is to make every third Tuesday in February every year a cashew day for the country to mark as promised during the lunching of the 10 years Cashew Development Plan which was launched last year in Wenchi in the then Brong Ahafo Region aiming at diversifying Ghanaian Agriculture.

He then ceased the opportunity to appeal to the Government to establish a regulatory body to help regulates the price of cashew in the country.

Nana Adu-Baomponsem VI who has emerged the national best cashew farmer on two occasions finally commended Government for fulfilling some of the promises made to the farmers such as mass spraying of cashew farms and free distribution of Cashew seedlings to Farmers across the country among other.
