NDC disassociates itself from Odododiodioo MP’s comment

According to a statement signed by the party’s General Secretary Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, NEC does not share in the position expressed by the Odododiodioo legislator in the fight against corruption.

And reminded Ghanaians that the investigation that led to the prosecution of Abuga Pele was initiated by the NDC as a way of getting rid of corruption in the country.

Again it would be absurd for the party that initiated the process to turn around to free any person who had been convicted.

NEC was quick to point out that they can understand the emotional trauma the family and friends of the convicted former MP are going through at this critical moment, but it is the belief of the leadership of the NDC party that individuals and party interest cannot supersede the National interest.

The NDC urged President Nana Akuffo-Addo to emulate the example of the Mahama government by mustering courage to bring to justice members of his government who have been accused of corruption rather than praising them, the statement said.
