Brong Ahafo RCC Chief Director visits Wenchi

The Regional Chief Director of the Brong Ahafo Regional Coordinating Council Mr. Kwame Oppong has paid a working visit to Wenchi Municipal Assembly.

The visit afforded him opportunity to meet and interact with workers and staff who are public and civil servants working in the municipality. He said this was the 24th Assembly he was visiting since he took office in the region.

In his address to the staff he was emphatic that the Municipal Chief Executive and Municipal Coordinating Director have signed a performance contract with the central government and staff needed to work extra had to enable the assembly achieve success in its performance indicators.

He noted that the contract document though the same as previous, it has been conceptualize with the same indicators he added.

Mr. Oppong urged workers to go an extra mile so that the municipality could become victorious during the performance contract assessment.

On the Functional Organizational Assessment Tool (FOAT), he asked the Assembly to put its house in shape all in readiness to meet the team in other to score high marks to qualify for the discretionary grant as it will go a long way to support our developmental pursuit.

“Districts are going to have the same assessment with the Municipals and you don’t have any course to fail” he added.

He charged on staff to desist from gossiping and leaking vital information from office to the public as it was unhealthy behavior and could destroy the good image the assembly has calve for itself since times past.

The Chief Director asked staff to develop themselves academically so that they could move on in the service.

He further asked Revenue collectors to work extra hard to raise more revenue for the Assembly to be able to undertake its developmental agenda and further stressed on the need for workers to work as professionals.

The Municipal Chief Executive Hon. Prince Kwakye Afriyie used the occasion to introduce the newly posted Municipal Coordinating Director of Wenchi Mr. Edward Abazing to the staff and further called on staff for their continuous support and cooperation.

Staff took turns to ask relevant questions that had bearing on their work schedules which the officers addressed accordingly.

Some of these questions bothered on promotions and transfers, payment of transfer grants, interviews etc.

The Chief Director was accompanied on his tour by the Assistant Directors Mr. Gabriel Apodola Apae-Nyelom and Ms Prisca Andanye all of the RCC.
