Minister tours Jaman North district
Minister of Health, Mr. Kwaku Agyemang Manu on Wednesday, visited the Jaman North District as part of his working tour to the Brong Ahafo Region.

The Hon Minister and his team arrived in the district capital, Sampa around at about 7:00pm and his first point of call was the Sampa Government hospital where he met the workers led by the Medical Superintendent Dr Taah Moah to discuss issues pertaining to the facility.

Some issues raised medical officers at the facility were centered erratic power supply at the theatre and the upgrading of the facility to meet international status.

The Hon. Minister however promised the authorities that, the issue of low current in facility will be a thing of the past in 3 months time and also promised that, the facility will soon be upgraded meet international requirements.

The Minister and his team from the Sampa Government hospital visited the Sampa Nurses Training to also discuss issues worrying them and to find a better way of solving such issues.


Commenting on some challenges of the school, the principal of the school, Mr. Charles Mandiri said, the total students population as at now stands at three hundred and thirty (330) all in the hostel with thirty three (33) teaching staff with only nine (9) being permanent.

He said the major challenge facing were inadequate lecture hall, Staff accommodation as well as hostel accommodation to house the students.


The Minister in his response to the problems raised said the government is fully committed in solving the problems of the school in a shortest possible time.

He however advised the students against alcoholism and other hard drugs and rather focus on their studies to achieve their aims.

He ended by saying that, the government is introducing learning of French in school and it is going to be composary for all students.

The Hon Minister and his team ended their visit at the Nananom of the Suma Traditional Council.

Odeneho Dr. Afram Brempon III in his welcome address congratulated H.E Nana Addo for the free SHS and the reinstalling of the Teacher and Nurses Trainee allowances.

The Chief however appealed to the Minister to help upgrade the Suma Presbyterian Health Center into a polyclinic status.
