U DENKYIRA E: Kyekyewere Community SHS nears completion
Work is said to be progressing steadily on one of the Community Day Senior High Schools at “Kyekyewere” in the Upper Denkyira Municipality of the Central Region.

The first of its kind project, forms part of the 200 community day senior high schools to be constructed by the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) government.

President John D. Mahama in 2014, broke grounds for work to begin on the said projects in various parts of the country.

So far, four of the fifty schools have been duly completed and commissioned in communities, namely Otuam, Bamiankor, Nkwanta, and “Kwaobaah-Nyanoa” in Central, Western, Volta and Eastern Regions respectively.

The modern edifice has spacious classrooms, science laboratories, two libraries, staff offices, two Information Communication Technology (ICT) labs, wash rooms among others.
Ghanadistricts.com visit to the project revealed that work has reached an appreciable stage with the contructor busily working on the project.

Further giving account on work on the project, Municipal Chief Executive for the area Mrs. Emilia Ankomah expressed optimism that the project could completed in no time. The contractor, she said has shown trustworthiness right from beginning of the project and was hopeful the project could soon be completed to help improve second cycle education.

According to her, the new facility is not only targeted to expand secondary education but also create equal opportunities for students who are denied admission into SHS due to limited space.
 
She opined that government was commitment to improve secondary by ensuring accessibility in every part of the country.
