KWABRE E: Sekyere rural bank donates to farmers

Sekyere Rural Bank limited, Mamponteng Branch has donated a Samsung table-top fridge to the Kwabre East District Assembly.

The donation forms part of the bank’s social responsibility to the people of the district who have been supportive of the bank in the district for the past years.

Presenting the fridge to the Assembly, the Mamponteng branch manager of the bank, Ms. Mary Ackah- Miezah applauded the farmers in the district for their efforts in the past years and assured them of the banks’ preparedness to improving the lives of farmers in the district.

Receiving the items on behalf of the Assembly, the District Coordinating Director of Kwabre East, Rev. Peter Antwi-Boasiako thanked the officials of the Assembly for their kind gesture and assured them that the item will be used for the purpose it was solicited for.

He also thanked them for always supporting the Assembly every year to celebrate farmers in the district who toil daily to ensure that food is served on our tables.

It is important to note that the 2017 farmers day celebration in the district would be held on Tuesday, 28th November, 2017 because the National Celebration will be held in the Ashanti region, thus all Metropolitan, Municipal and Districts Assemblies in the region are to celebrate theirs at least a week earlier than 1st December, 2017 where the national celebration will be held.

The theme for this year’s celebration is ‘’Farming for Food and Jobs’’ and it will be held at Asonomanso Presby J.H.S. park.

In attendance will be the District Chief Executive, Hon. Nana Osei Asibey Bonsu and all the gallant farmers in the district.

Present at the presentation were the District Agriculture Director, Mr. Francis Korletey, chairman of the Agriculture sub-committee of the Assembly, Hon. Kwadjo Appiah, District Planning Officer, Mr. Daniel Fofie and some other officials of the Assembly.
