EJURA: MCE touches base with communities
Leadership of the Ejura-Sekyedumase Municipality continue to get down to the grassroots to constantly get themselves acquainted with developments in the various sectors.

As part of the third quarter monitoring, on 12 September, 2017, the Municipal Chief Executive, Mohammed Salisu Bamba together with staff of the Municipal Assembly and Heads of other departments embarked on a familiarization tour of some parts of the municipality.

The aim of the tour was to get themselves acquainted with issues surrounding most communities in the municipality and also to aid in the preparation of budget towards the development of those communities based on their needs.

However, most of the communities visited had similar issues or challenges, with the following as issues raised by all communities;
  • Rehabilitation or building of schools
  • Extension or the provision of Electricity
  • Building of Health facilities
  • Provision of sanitation facilities
  • Provision or better access to Water facilities
  • Rehabilitation or construction of roads
  • Provision of adequate security
  • Communication or mobile network accessibility and many more
  • Standardization of farm produce for all farmers in municipality
Some of the communities visited included Kyenkyenkura, Abrewano, Dejau, Famekyebaabi, Kantankani, Adjamasu, Mbanaa, and Zambrama.



The rest are Ademmara Nkwanta, Ebuom, Bayere Nkwanta, Nyame Bekyere, Miminaso No.1 & 2, Nkwaseakan, Kobriti, Yabraso, Aframso, Nkyensee, Kasei, Ejura Nkwanta, Hiawoanwu, Bonyon, Dromankoma, Fakawa and Serekyikura

Kyenkyenkura, Abrewano, Dejau, Famekyebaabi, Kantankani, Adjamasu, Mbanaa, and Zambrama were communities visited on the first day of the tour.

The Second day which was on the 13th saw the observation of the “MY FISRT DAY AT SCHOOL EVENT”.

The MCE in accordance of the said event visited the Ahenboboano M/A Primary School, Ejura Model Basic School, Ejura R/C Primary School, Ejuraman Senior High School and the Sekyedumase Senior High School.

In all the schools, the MCE interacted with the students and encouraged the pupils and students study hard so that they can achieve their dreams in future and also enjoy from the free SHS Policy the government has introduced. It also happened that new SHS students were being admitted.





He donated some drinks and biscuits for the pupils. Communities was visited on this day was Teacherkurom, Frante, Sekyedumase, Asuoyeboah, Gyaaho, Drobong, and Nkrampo.

However, Plans are already in motion by the Assembly to solve the above listed challenges facing various communities.

Among the team were the MCD, Municipal Project Engineer, Planning Office, Budget Analyst, Finance Officer, Human Resource Manager, Protocol Officer, Client Service Officer, the Directors of Agriculture, Education, Health, NCCE, Social Welfare and Community Development, Town and Country Planning, Information Department Service, a Rep from Police Service Department and some Assembly Members. The tours started early each day and ended late.
