Dome Crossing Bridge opens to traffic

Construction work on the Dome Crossing Bridge in the Ga East Municipality of the Greater Accra Region has been completed.

The bridge, which connects communities such as Atomic, Saint Johns, Kwabenya, and Ashongman Estate, replaces an old concrete bridge which got damaged after several years without proper maintenance work.

The new bridge is also expected to ensure proper drainage system due to the perennial flooding in the area.

A visit by the Ghanadistricts.com on Wednesday indicated that the bridge had been completed and opened to traffic.

Information gathered indicates that the completion of the bridge has put an end to the situation where motorists and pedestrians had to use a longer alternative route like Taifa to reach their various destinations.

Some residents who spoke in an interview expressed their gratitude to the Member of Parliament for the area, Lawyer Sara Adwoa Safo and Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Janet Tulasi Mensah for coming to their aid.

Others also lauded the government for releasing funds to finish the project on time.
