2020 ELECTIONS: Contesting Akufo Addo is causing financial loss to the state - Odotobri NPP hints
The New Patriotic Party Constituency Chairman for the Odotobri Constituency in the Ashanti Region, Dominic Bossompim has called on the Clergy, the Chief Iman, the Christian Council and other state agencies to advise the opposition political parties who are preparing to contest the 2020 general election to quit in order to save the state from causing financial loss

According to him "Ghanaians have tested the leadership of John Mahama who is the current flagbearer for the main opposition part and have shown their displeasure to his governance by showing him the exit recording that defeat during the previous elections"

He called on the former President to step down as a good statesman to save the Electoral Commission and Ghana as a whole from those outrageous expenses incurred for running elections which could be used in one way or another to develop the state.

The NPP constituency Chairman who made this observations in an interview with Ghanadistricts.com after a Press Conference last weekend, metaphorically explained that, "election is like a football game once you are substituted in a match you cannot play that game until the 90 minutes for that match is over".

Mr. Bossompim, emphasised that it has become a norm for every government to rule for eight years before changing the government for other political party if they so deemed it fit.

He recounted that "since we Ghanaians assumed democratic rule, every political party elected to govern this state rule for eight years starting from the National Democratic Congress (NDC) with Jerry John Rawlings in 1992, he was given another four years in 1996 general election, then the NPP won in 2000 with former President John Agyekum Kufour he was also give another mandate of four years in 2004 general election and that continue to John Mills and mahama which former President Mahama should have ultilise that opportunity by widening the term of government but failed the state and was substituded with Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo by the electorate".

The NDC should have changed their flagbearer, saying “I see no need why John Mahama should contest Nana Addo. I think the Akufo Addo led government is steering the nation in the right direction. A substituted player can never get on the field of play in that game again”
